I don't remember the Gales advert, oli, but it sounds like a parody of "Toast" by the Streetband.
An annoying little record from 1978, featuring a certain Paul Young. It was mainly a ****-er-ney talky-type of song with the words " a little bit of TOAST !" liberally scattered throughout. Can't remember the lyrics apart from
"Brown bread, white bread
All sorts of *something* bread,
It comes in funny packages with writing on the side.
TOAST !
(Just alittle bit of) TOAST ! "
Or something like that.
An execrable record that should have been incinerated in the toaster and not thrust into the nation's bread basket when it wasn't kneaded.
