Mamjet - your answer is disgusting. You do not know the circumstances at all and yet you consider you have a right to make a derogatory judgement on the person who asked. Please get it into your head that not all people who go into care homes have been abandoned - far from it.
Eagleone - I suggest you need a solicitor to advise you on whether the lease can be ended before her death. It may be that your mother-in-law could (if she is mentally competent) voluntarily terminate it but this probably depends on how the lease came into existence and the precise wording of it.

Thank you " themas" at 96 she is very much alert, her sister passed away last spring at 1 mth. from being 100, and smoked a pack of smokes a day, up to that very day also had a drink of brandy 3 or 4 times a week. The mother-in-law wishes to have the house completely in our name just did not want us to pay for lawyer fees as he has already made enough off the family now, if you know what I mean. Thanks again
