TV hung on wall
When I get round to buying the correct brackets, I intend to hand my plasma on the wall, however, my friend did this and it fell down a few weeks later. She called her insurance who told her she was not covered and that she had to have made them aware that it was on the wall when she hung it.
I find this very bizarre, is this normal insurance procedure?

I told them that I had recently bought a new 37'' wide-screen TV to see if it made any difference to the insurance price, which it didn't.
They never asked whether it was fitted on the wall, which it isn't, and I would have thought its THEIR job to ask. when they make the insurance policy out.
Did your friend fit the TV to the wall herself or did she have professionals to do it?
Typical Insurance companies, Grrr

Good grief, Ray - how many questions would the insurance be expected to ask before providing cover? It is the policy holders' duty to inform the insurance company of any changes or possible hazards in the home.
Check your insurance policy and pay particular attention to the exclusions. Phone them up and check you are covered for wall mounted tvs.
