I am only 22 and my hair is getting quite thin on top.  Ihave got a few scars from my younger days but im sure this is not the problem.  Any advice?

It just happens.  Go with it and shave your hair off.  That looks quite attractive to us ladies.  I'm presuming you're a guy!  Don't try to disguise it, it doesn't work.  And apart from having expensive hair transplants like Elton John there is very little you can do. 

 

It's caused through testosterone so be proud of going bald.

get used to it, absolutely no cure, some of us lose it early, others later, i am in my fifties and am noewthinning on top and sides, but i keep it very short so it does not notice.Sorry to dissapoint you

Thats ok... if its gotta be its gotta be... don't think it would suit me if i shaved it all off tho.
Keeping it short however maybe a better solution.

You are not alone mate !, it happened to me at 21, it was my brother who noticed (much to his amusement!)- the lot came off the very next day and every day since, you might as well try it as you will get used to it and if not it wont take long to grow back.

Just keep your hair short then Gadgetmanx.  I can assure you that it  will be OK.

I'm 25 and I have been receding for years now, though my hair is thick (where I have it!!).  I shave my head usually but I am tall and broad so the style suits.  My best friend is thinning and receding too but he keeps his hair longer than I do.  He does, however, spike it up and that only adds to the problem for him.  Find a cut that you feel comfortable with but try not to worry too much.  You see things in the mirror in far greater detail than anyone else does and if someone is that close to notice then they are obviuosly unconcerned about it.

I am not phased by hair loss, I don't get teased as a result of that.  My friend is very vain and he gets eaten up by it - just shrug it off and look at it this way, it could be worse. We look our best to attract a partner, who will eventually love us no matter what our perceived shortcomings are.  Ironic but comforting.

It all depends on if it bothers you or not. I don't think people care anymore, a bit like wearing glasses, once geeky now trendy!  I've heard that there's a product made from shark cartilage. Cheryl Baker from Bucks Fizz uses it since she had bad hair loss and swears by it claiming she has better hair now than 20 years ago!. It's costly tho' at about �50 for a months supply and signs of change can take over 3 months.

never mind the hair loss, fakeplastic is a lady!! when did that happen? don't worry about it Gadgetmanx its the look for the new milenium. by about 2020 all us thin tops will become the majority and we'll point and laugh at blokes with hair. i started receeding at about 24 and worried about it like hell, i'm now 35 and i still have a reasonable amount of hair and most of my mates are starting to go thin too even the ones who took the micky a few years back. jim

got to be honest fakeplastic i simply thought radiohead fan = bloke. i really must stop making assumptions about people. i dunno how this helps with gadgetmanx's baldness :o)
