im thinking of uprooting and moving to thailand, im married to a thai, i have a small monthly pension of around �170 which i would like paid into my thai account, is this possible, or will i have to set up a dd or standing order to do this, will it cost me money, ie bank fee/charge. im due for state pension in 5 years will this be the same. any help much appreciated, thanks.

Your state pension will suffer if you move out of the EU - it will be frozen and you won't get the annual increases.

Speak to your current pension provider re paying to Thailand.

than you ethel and in a pickle, seems a bit unfair that the pension is frozen having worked all of my life to earn it. i will contact my pension provider to see if they can help, thanks once again.

your pension provider should be able to pay your pension into a thai bank account by TAPS (Trans Atlantic Payment System). There is a small charge, i think approx �4 per transaction. but for further info, speak to your pension provider.
