Women wear shaping underwear all the time so would you men do it to? I have to say,it's not the most attractive undergarment i've ever seen but then neither is the stuff we wear to keep our wobbly bits in check.lol

Thanks for your answers everyone. I have to say it does look uncomfortable aroung the wedding vegetables area! Some of the stuff us ladies wear is not comfortable either.I haven't yet reached the stage where I need a girdle yet though thankfully. I did buy some chicken fillets a while ago but after nearly losing one on a dance floor I stopped using them.
