Discolored palms and knuckles on hands

Hey Peeps,

just got out of hospital today after having a knee op on Tuesday morning.

My boyfriend noticed that it looked like i was smoking 50 fags a day (i dont actually smoke!) as the palms of my hand looked yellowish and the knuckles and joints of my fingers did too...

Any idea what causes it?

Just curiosity really, but would appreciate your opinion!

When I had my operation the skin round the wound was stained yellow from the antiseptic lotion they paint on the skin

It could be that - is it both hands?

oh your talking about Iodine, yeah had that all aound my knee and up my leg but definitely isnt that....

The whites of your eyes aren't yellowish, are they?

no they're fine - u thinking it might be jaundice?

im thinking it might just be down to lack of sleep and food, poor diet over the last 3/4 days maybe?

Yes, that's what I was thinking, nat. I'd have a chat with your GP, just to put your mind at rest, but you're probably right - it's down to lousy hospital food!! Hope you feel better soon, K xx
