HDTV on Virgin plus cable

I'm trying to set up my new High-def telly. I've plugged in the Virgin+ box with an HDMI cable and followed the instructions. But I get a "No signal" message. The virgin website is no help. Before I commit to a long wait on their phone line, does anybody have any ideas?

Have you tried following this connection wizard? It's the best I've seen

Have you changed the input on tv settings to HDMI?

Have you told the V+ box to output in HD, try browsing/asking on this forum for loads of info http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/home.php

Thanks for suggestions - it turned out the problem was at Virgin's end; nobody in my area was getting an HD signal but it's OK now.
