one of my fishes has recently formed these 2 great white bulges on its back can anyone tell me what they are!

it sounds like a fungal infection. If so try segregating it to another tank with added salt for a few days. This has worked with my fish in the past but I dont have them now so maybe you should look at other answers before you try this.

cheers for your answer. i've benn using this fish guardian for the water to make the water more healthy for my fish. should i stop using it?

This sounds like dropsy. My goldfish had it recently. if it is dropsy it comes from tap water (or so i was told by a vet) By goldfish became the size of a tennis ball. I was told to segregate it from the other fish. I did this and it died shortly after. It had the white marks for 2 and a half weeks in all. You will still need to treat any other fish if this is the case

cheers for your post. i found a medicine to give my fish from the pet store and it's getting better. i was told it was the tap water that was making the fish ill so i also purchased something to put in the water everytime i change it.
