Countries Beginning With A?

I'm told there are three countries whose names start with, but don't end with an A.

I have Afganistan and Azerbaijan, what's the third?  am i right in thinking that Aden is not a country, but a city of Yemen?

This question was asked a short while ago, and I don't think anybody came up with that 3rd country. To be honest, I don't think there is one.

Is Ascension Island in the South Atlantic a country?

You see i though about that, if so there are loads, e.g American Samoa Islands, Aleutian Islands etc.  Someone asked this at a party and it bugged me for a while.  don't care anymore if its already been asked.

Have checked three websites and the only ones they list as countries are

Afghanistan, American Samoa and Axerbaijan

There is also the Ashmore & Cartier islands which is classed as an independent country
