For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.what do you mean the law of it, the dvla have strict guidlines on medical conditions,ie level one for normal drivers.level 2 for taxis, hgv and psv drivers and if you have been ill, then restrictions are put on your licence, that is the law,if you want to appeal, you can,but a medical will need to be done by a independant doctor.
I'm diabetic, and I'm restricted to cars and vans/trucks under 3.5 tonnes.
The premise behind this is that if I happen to have a hypoglaecemic attack at the wheel, I'm more likely to kill more people in a HGV than in my Chevrolet Kalos (which is probably true). Whatever your condition is, this will be the very basic reason behind it.
Same reason I can't drive a taxi, etc.
That said, I could have four passengers in my car and drive into a queue of people at a bus stop in my car, but there you go.
If you need further advice, I have the complete DVLA guidelines on my desk (how clear they are though is beyond me)
