In an article in The Daily Mail on the late Humphrey Lyttelton there is a photo of Humph with Louis Armstrong? Is this really Armstrong? I thought Armstrong was a health freak and wouldn't have carried so much weight!

Louis Armstrong was always rather stocky (not exactly fat but certainly never thin).

He did use laxitives a lot to control his weight, but he also loved food so all his life had trouble keeping his weight down.

Here is a picture of him when he was young and you can see he is very stocky and a little chubby

And here is a picture of him when he was a lot older, and as you can see he is still carrying a few extra pounds

Found an article on BBC's website:

4GS, to find any news item do as follows:

Go into Google - google.co.uk

Search for say "lyttelton"

When you get all the "hits" back select the "News" tab near the top of the google page.

There you get a list of all the News pages mentioning "lyttelton".

Near the top on my page there is a link to find "all 154 news articles" containing lyttelton although the number may rise above 154 by the time you do it.

Thank you all!
Humph will not only be a great loss to British jazz but also to broadcasting!
I was fortunate to see Chairman Humph and the rest of the "I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue" team late last year when I attended a recording of a couple of the shows. Humph was his usual spritely self, and was obviously dearly loved by the panelists.

I am very saddened by the news.
