I've just solved 30d. It is an angram of 'clips' and a 3-letter word meaning 'line'. The definition is punctuation marks. The actual entry is a nice drop of something I am shortly going to indulge in - cold!

Incidentally, any thoughts on the title, Haselrig?

Got it! It's not as difficult as it first appears.

It means "Mixed up twin calves" (11)

Anagram of REFINE + S gives seven of the letters!

I am ashamed to say that I still don't have 1a and 3d.

3d Anagram of frees and most of game - minus the extra letter = fish

Managed to get another couple yesterday evening after I'd logged off ---- including 26a. Used to live next door to a farm and should have got that far earlier. Thanks to everybody for the hints to help complete it.

During the summer I always do a treble or 4 team accumulator ( very small stakes ) on each round of County Cricket matches. It's good value because if a match is a draw that part of the bet is void. The question is, can I back against Glamorgan in all their matches this season, or are they not that bad?

I think that this season Glamorgan will not be last. But that's from the most tolerant supporter who knows no pessimism. Problem is, who else would you back to lose so regularly? I think there are a couple of candidates, so it is wise to keep the stakes small.
