Engine Warning light MGF

I have a 2001 MGF. The engine warning light stays on when driving. No apparrent loss in performance from engine. Can anyone suggest the fault ?

Sounds like your alternator has packed up � check the battery voltage, with the engine running, it should be just under 14 Volts.

If your battery is not being charged, very soon the battery will not be able to start your car.

There are so many sensors on a modern car it could be one of many things, You could be destroying your Cat Converter by continuing to driver it.

Needs to have the fault code read by a dealer to find out.

If it was the alternator another light should be lit up
