Hello everyone! What music reminds you of a great time in your life, and why? I love this song (by The Sweet :) ) because when I was little and we used to go on Haven holidays, the yellow coats danced to it!
That song brings back memories for me as well :) I helped out at a Marie Curie 3 Day extravaganza at Cardiff Castle and the Sweet played at one of the concerts and did Wig Wham Bam, was such a fantastic few days and the song always brings back memories.
Queen's Don't Stop Me Know is another one as it was the theme song for a holiday centre for the disabled I used to volunteer at and that was our "theme" song.
I don't get much time to do as much as I used to so the memories are very precious.
echo beach by martha and the muffins, young at heart by the bluebells, 3 is the magic number -de la soul , wash you face in my sink -dream warriors and various others all remind me of my 'first' gorwn up holiday without the folks, we went to newquay and went mad, its was fooking great
Any from when I used to go to youth club, especially slow songs like careless whisper when you didnt know what love was or how much hassle it was and you could dance with a different boy every week and not get called a hussy.
Thank you all :)
Jenn, thank you for sharing! The charity bash sounds like ti was incredible. Would you like to be doing as much as you used to?
mccfluff, I would have loved a real 'grown-up' holiday like that! I must say, the Vengaboys' Boom Boom Boom Boom reminds me of being on the coach in France in year 8 at school! Do you have lots of photos?
Visi, how you mean?! I am 22...In fact they probably danced to the Black Lace version, but I may have blocked that from my memory, thank goodness!
Thank you harry :D what happened to your old name hun?
4get, I know just what you mean! They don't do 'love' like they used to...
x
I'd love to do more, it's just finding the time between work and my other half, I must make more of an effort and maybe do some one offs.
The Marie Curie do was amazing, classical concert then fireworks first night, golden oldies (inc the Sweet) second night and Les Mis the third, all in the beautiful grounds of Cardiff Castle. It raised a load of money too :)
The Outhere Brothers (?) reminds me of a fast food place in Bucharest when I went to Romania, the servers were all in flourescent outfits and on rollerskates and they had them on a constant loop.
One of the bizarrest was a boat trip in Prague last year, as we were coming back to dock they put the Celine Dion song on...the one from Titanic!!! We just couldn't believe they'd pick such a song for a boat trip!
Boom, boom, boom, let me hear you say way-o, WAY-O!
*lol* Jenna, I know just what you mean. I would love to do more, but in between study, work and home, it's not really possible at the moment!
What a diverse event, and popular too I bet!
