the green's fine enigma :-)

on the subject of colours, auburn hair can look amazing.
pastafreak ... yes

... but where does that confidence come from?

Don't we all have "feel good" days when we could take on the world?

And "down" days, when we couldn't?

Why???

(this is not a cue for anyone to write an essay on biorhythms).
LOL-if I had an answer to that...I would probably have the solution also.
I 'used' to have auburn hair-wish I still did..,but I like what I have ended up with ;-)
He does seem like a really nice, genuine person.
Projecting a feel-good aura stems from having confidence, but even the most confidant woman in the world can have her "off" days - as with any human being. I seem to use the expression.." never judge a book.." quite often - and it's true. The best turned-out woman may not have the nature to go with it, but what I look for in friends and in terms of attraction, are the deeper aspects of a person's personality. I agree with enigma really. The world's fast becoming a materialistic, cloned society, whereby outward looks seem to count more than what a person has to offer. I could never be happy with a vain, shallow partner, and having been brought up to respect people for what they are, I can't see me changing.
Oops! Think pasta sort of said that, not enigma......I'm feeling weary!
See, I'm what you would consider a "big girl" too. I'm also quite tall, so maybe it doesn't show as much. But I can assure everyone here, including the one who called us "big birds", that I've never, and I mean NEVER, had a problem finding a "boyfriend".
The trouble is, and I'm sure any other incredibly attractive woman would agree (lol), is to let them see past it! Past the body, past the sense of humour, past the sarcasm, past the mind....Not many will make it to the end, I can tell you. :O)
Well..if you look past the body, the wit, the mind.....what IS there to look at??? I think what I'm saying is, that no matter what a person physically looks like, they can be attractive if they have the confidence to ooze their other charms. An ugly person can walk into a room and turn heads - because they have that "spark" about them. A good looking, perfect person could do the same but maybe seem like a blank canvas. It all depends really. Beauty IS in the eyes of the beholder - and you know what max, I bet you look brilliant. if you're healthy, then being "bigger" is no problem at all. x
Past the body, the wit, the mind...maybe that wasn't clear because it's not my first language and I tend to blabber after a while...By mind, I meant the first impressions mind, the first impressions personality...which tends to be very defensive (ie: sarcastic). A lot of people are put off by that, and it has nothing to do with being big. It's just a defense mechanism, and thank god there is one! Otherwise we'd just feel sorry for oursleves, think we don't deserve anything better anyway, and end up with the worst ignoramus you don't even fancy. I'm past that, I think. :O)
Bless you hun - well, I think over in Britain, sarcasm's NOT the lowest form of wit - but some of the funniest (if directed with a genuine laugh!!). I know some people use it to hide insecurities, but I just think it's best to be yourself. laugh, and the world laughs with you, not AT you. I still think you sound fine, whatever your size, looks, whatever. x
" An ugly person can walk into a room and turn heads"

How patronizing is that!!!

So, you think they're ugly? Yet, you think "Oh hell, I'll be good today, I'll tell them they're amazing but I still think they're ugly".

If REALLY you don't give a damn, then you don't even mention the fact you think they're ugly, do you? Well, hello, even people who are thought to be "ugly" want to feel loved, and attractive. The first step would be to not brand them.
Hey - hold your horses!! Oh dear me - that was meant as an example, if you like - a theoretical situation. Have you honestly never considered someone to be "ugly", or does the word offend you? It's no worse than calling someone pretty. They might snap back that they hate the word, and'd be rather called "attractive", as pretty brings to mind someone with little girl looks. If it pleases you, I'll re-phrase that, and say...if someone enters the room who you personally don't find aesthetically pleasing (is that OK?), then they could still command admiration from the opposite sex, because of how they conduct themselves, or simply because somone finds that particular look attractive. Don't get so "jumpy" max.
You're sounding just like Legend there, Ice, if I may! :O)
I've been accused of being "jumpy", only because I don't normally post when something annoys me, I just ignore it. I do appreciate your explanation though, and I thank you for taking the time to clarify. No worries. K? ;O)
Max - no worries at all. It just sounded like you were being very defensive, simply because I used the "u" word. It's just been used again, by someone in "beauty", to describe how someone suffering from blackheads feels. I meant no offence at all, and certainly never base my judgement of people on what they look like. I was trying to illustrate that a person doesn't have to be good looking in the eyes of those who see him or her, in order to be a very nice person. LOL - and I'm sounding like Legend??? I could never copy his accent, let alone his expressions! Huge grin. All's well, hun. xx
