my sister brought them ghds straightners and they got very hot and burnt her head, there has been alot of complaints about them so i would go for the other ones

I use Remington 2x protection ceramic straightners.  My hairdressor always uses GHD, as all good hairdressers do.  The new generation of straightners are very different to the ones used in the 80's and 90's.  They are hotter, but do require less time on the hair to achieve a great result.  The very important thing to remember, is to use a heat protection product before you straighten, and then use a balm or small amount of wax to set the style.  I had the same problem as you, where the mere hint of weather and my hair would go back to normal, until my hairdresser said that the wax would protect the style and keep the hair straight for longer.

As for using the wet2straight, i wouldn't trust it.  These straightners are not really great for your hair, but using them to dry your hair sounds like you're asking for trouble.

What i would say to the person who has burnt themselves using the straigtners, is that they should get an adult to help them next time, and thus avoid accidents.

The wet to straight straightners can leave your hair looking very greasy, I would stick with the GHDS and use heat protector spray before you straighten your hair.
I had the same hair as you, so I paid 250 and had the Yuko Permenant Hair Straightening treatment done.Expensive as a one payment yes but I no longer need hair straighteners, serums, waxes, lotions, potions, several different types of brush and the big bonus , no frizz in damp weather!
