No best answer has yet been selected by gwinearman. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Ivorbiggun I think you have previously expressed your views to gwinearman but you are not the site police and it is up to him whether or not to take your advice. It might have been helpfull if he had stated what quiz it was from and what the closing date was (I still have no idea, but you seem to be well up in all these quizzes), but those are not in the Site Rules.
I do however hold my hands up to not reading his post carefully enough and didn't realise gwinearman was only asking for clues. This is after all a Q&A site and one tends to make assumptions. I am not alone in this. Posters have to make it absolutely clear that clues only are requested. Not that it makes much difference - the clues given are usually so helpful that they don't leave much room for doubt. Hardly any different from an answer.
Ivorbiggun, How about publishing a list of those posters we are allowed (by you) to give answers to, and which we are not? How will you make sure everyone sees it as it slips down the page of posts. What are the penalties for not obeying?
gwinearman, Sorry I didn't read your post carefully enough. I would have been happy to give a clue if I had realised.
P.S.
What quiz is this from?

I am not here to police the site or indeed to pick on anyone. All I ask is that the lazy quizzers should try a little harder and longer before deciding to ask the world for answers. Who benefits from that? Only the other people doing the same quiz who look for answers on this site, where they are freely given.
