this has been.
Woke up from bad dreams about ex-husband. Then my land lord phones us and tells us he's thinking of selling up.
I love this house and I so want to stay here for the rest of my life but this seems no longer possible. I haven't finished my studies yet and can't get into work. Been out of the loop to long. H (My Husband) Is registered disabled and so there is no chance of us being able to buy the place from the landlord. Who's gonna give us a mortgage.
Life stinks right now.

Pants innit... I'm not in the best of moods meself either. Not very consolating but at least you're not the only one!

How about getting yourself down to the council or housing association on Tuesday as I'm sure you'd be eliigable. I know it's not a great solution and you'd much rather be in your house but it's better to have a back up plan than no plan.

Fingers crossed he's just thinking about it though.
Oh dear tigerlily :-( thats not so good. I know it's easy for me to say, but try to keep your spirits up. As Invisible says, I'm sure something will turn up. My thoughts are with you and your husband.
Awww tigerlily , that is sad if you have to lose your home . Do you think that the new owners might want to rent out though and let you stay ? xxxxxx
Don't know where you live but nothing has
sold here for ages ..one estate agent has
closed ..so if your landlord decides to sell
it could be on the market for months ..
have you tried to get a mortgage ? there
are lenders that will ...nothing ventured !!!
Good Luck

I know it a bit soon. The contract with the letting agency until November so I guess he isn't likely to do anything before then. But it sort of ruined what was otherwise a pretty good weekend. Sorry if I brough you all down with me.
I am rather hopping he will go directly through us rather than an agency. We pay 675 a month and I'm pretty sure he doesn't get nearly all of it and the agency are worse than useless. They don't seem to do a thing really, yet they manage to charge both us and the landlord 90 a piece just to sign a contract last year. 90 just to sign a bit of paper.
I'm a bit worried as to where the council will put us.
Any way thanks for your kind words.
Nowt is seling at the moment.
I think you will be safe for at least a year after he puts it on the market.
However the buy to let market is also pants at the moment, so I would not hold out for the new buyer being an investment buyer.
The you no chance of getting a mortgage unless you have a good income and are low risk. Even then you will need a 20% deposit to get a good loan rate.

I was on the verge of buying a second home to let last year ...but the maths did not add up. Glad I didn't now.
I would have gone from own home no mortgage to house trying to let or let at a loss and a mortgage.

i dont understand how being registered disabled prevents you getting a mortgage?

because he can't work now. He's on what they used to call a med 4. I don't nderstand it. Besides which at our age we even when I go back to work no bank is going to give us a mortgage because we are both to old.
