i am trying to replace the rear brake pads on my nissan primera w reg 2.0 s is there any special way to push back the calipers as they seem to be jammed or do i have to do something to the handbrake to make the move back

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.a lot of disc brake pads must be pushed back with a special tool that actually winds the piston in, if its got two holes in the piston face its almost certainly that type, some people have reported that you can do it with screwdrivers or c/clip pliers but i have not been able to, you will be able to but this tool off ebay or possibly machine mart , peter
You should have a manual to do jobs on any car.
Do you mean push the pistons back into the calipers if so this varies on different cars, some you need a special tool to push and at the same time turn the pistons either left or right, forcing them back without turning can damage them.
You can use a pair of pliers to do this.
