The JD's went to Ely today - on this glorious day & the Cathedral was breath taking, it was really beautiful.
There were a lot of visitors there & the atmosphere was great.
Anyone do anything this bank holiday?

Sounds lovely j.d. Mr R and I did nothing for a change. Strolled around the shops, pigged out at the Chinese buffet, took son to the train station, came home and flaked out for a few hours.

I intend not to do anything for the rest of the eve too.

Meanwhile, Mr R is doing the ironing. And there is plenty of it too ......

Hi rabbit, sometimes it's nice not to do anything!
MR R - Will you do my ironing too???? pretty please! lol
Make the most of it - back to work tomorrow????
Refurbing a house and we usually work 7 days a week. Son has been to stay to help decorate enormous landing and plasterboard the ceiling. I gardened all day Sat.

A rare day off used wisely!

And Mr R will tire long before he gets to your ironing j.d!

Wow, you have got your hands full! Is the house yours to stay in? - It'll be worth it in the end, especially with it so lovingly restored.
Mr JD & myself hate gardening - maybe I can get both of you to come & do the ironing & gardening on your next day off!!! LOL

You'll have to do it up like Ely Cathedral!

Will probably end up renting it out while the market is slow.

We own another place, a bungalow, which we live in.

So I flit between one and the other.

And I tell people I dont work!!!!

Anywhere near Cambridge? I might come & stay - to get away from the kids!
Derby.

Have fond memories of Cambridge. A lovely summer in 1969 staying with my fave aunt and her family.....

We live in St Ives Cambs, came here 4 years ago - absolutely love it (I'm from Leicester)
We're from 'dahn sarf' - Watford. Been in Derby since last Sept. I love it - Mr R is still adjusting!
Do they still have the summer fair in Cambridge ?
Strawberry fair is it called ?

My Mother lives in Saffron Walden ...not too far from cambridge.

I took a day trip via some nice country lanes to South Sea. Was very busy , prefer the winter when its dead. Like when we had a place in cornwall. I used to love the winter months.
Would like to move to Derbyshire next move ...near or just outside Chesterfield. Was planing to cash in on the Southern house prices and buy a large place up North. But will sit tight at the moment. Nowt is selling at the moment.

My sister is looking for a place either in Mansfield Woodhouse or Chestefield where she works - very cheap!
Yes very cheap.
Work might be a small issue ...but might have a solution to that.
Would get the same size house I have in the area I live in for half the price ...cry cry ....
I did plan to buy in Chesterfield and also a smaller place to let ...but thats not a good idea at the moment...will wait to see how the market is moving first.
Actually randyraven, the rental market is not all gloom and doom at the mo. Those not able to buy at present will rent. Some hope to sell their houses to rent more cheaply than a mortgage.

Rents generally have risen slightly, but it does depend on the property of course. Next door to me is moving into her deceased mothers house and has found a tenant for her semi in days.

You could give the market a try with your place. You never know ....
