Try something like Tresemme's Heat Defence Styling Spray. You spray it on before you straighten to protect the hair, and you should end with a much smoother result. It isn't expensive (I think the last one I bought was about 3.49). Hope this helps.

Hi - I use L'Oreal Studio Hot Straight cream. You put it on towel-dried hair before blow drying and straightening. Like the Tresemme, it will leave your hair soft and silky without the frizz - and it protects your hair from being damaged by the extreme heat. It costs 3.95 for 150 mil. I have long thick hair and it lasts me several weeks. You can get it anywhere - tescos, sainsbury's, boots - probably cheaper at wilkinsons. BTW, I tried Shockwave Tame It and it made my hair so stiff and brittle I thought it was going to all break off!!
Pantene Ice shine serum is brilliant. Takes all the frizz out of your hair and makes it silky and sleek.
The best stuff is Trevor Sorbie Straightening Addict Protect, Flatten and Shine Spray. It's so good that if in a rush I can just rough dry my hair to it's usual curly, frizzy state then spritz on the spray and use my straightening irons. It makes my hair really glossy, conditioned and frizz free. You can get it at Boots (sometimes in a travel size - so you try before getting the full size, although it isn't that expensive). I find it's better than salon sprays three times the price - even better than the GHD spray because it doesn't leave my hair greasy.
Are the GHD straighteners worth the money? I have Babyliss and they are good, but my hairdresser tells me to invest in GHD's.
i was told by my hair dresser that ghds are no different to ur normal average hair straighters
