Why can't they make the simplest of efforts and speak English ? I have watched Rick Stein and he has met all sorts of stupid French people and they just spread their unshaven arms and talk nonsense, and Rick has to go sotto voce and translate for us.

We have enough problems in our own backyard with the Scotties and the Lancashire cotton mills without trying to cope with the French.
