brush cutter
hi all thanks for all replys ,does any one know the difference from a brush cutter to a strimmer or are they the same thing ? any sugg on good makes to buy cheers

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.At least here in the U.S., a brush cutter is more substantial than what you call a "strimmer" and we call weedeater or string trimmer (somehow I like your term better). The engine,while still a smaller 2 cycle is more powerful and has metal cutting blades. Since the blades are dangerous it usually has a blade guard. The ones we use here on the ranch are capable of cutting saplings up to an inch or so in diameter. They have two hand grips and a shoulder strap to support the weight. I imagine there are smaller ones however...
The brush cutter attachment we use is a metal blade that bolts onto the shaft after you have taken off the stimming head. Commercially, I've found that the Stihl is the best, although more expensive. It depends on the work you expect it to do. The cheaper one's would be fine for most private garden use.
