can anyone tell me why an old world war 2 bomber was flying over or near to the manchester city football ground today.

Was this perhaps the restored Avro Vulcan on its way to Bruntingthorpe? See page 10 of today`s Daily Telegraph.

this was like a lancaster bomber heading out from the centre of manchester then banking to the left before the manchester city football ground. flying low you could hear the hum from its engines just like the old war films. i was in a car going towards manchester city centre

Very often if you see the Lanc flanked by two planes it is a Spitfire and a Hurricane.
