wood ash
Can I use wood ash in the garden as I have loads of it or should I juast throw it away.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Sure... just be judicious in its use. Wood ash is excellent in raising pH of the soil, and neutralizes acid soils. So, it's best you know the pH levels in the soil so as not to add toomuch. If you have acid loving plants, especially rhododendrons and azaleas and many varities of evergreens you would avoid spreading the ash near them.
