Oh no, he didn't really do "Thank U Very Much" by The Scaffold, did he? This time, he's gone too far...

I haven't seen the Royal Variety Show yet( taped it to play a little nearer to Christmas!) but if it is the THANK YOU VERY MUCH I think it is...then it is from the film SCROOGE with Albert Finney in the title role.

It is also used in the stage play based on the film, which I believe Tommy has been starring in recently (maybe still touring the country with it).

Anthony Newley toured with SCROOGE a few years ago, before his untimely death, and I have a feeling the songs are co-written by him and Leslie Bricusse.

Tommy Steele is currently in Manchester with Scrooge..........and it's his 68th birthday today, and he still ran around the stage like a teenager !
