HR/Personnel Records..confidential?
Once you have left a company are your personal details meant to remain confidential?
An ex colleague has been trying to get hold of me and eventually rang my parents. The only way they could have got their number was from my personal records, but I am sure this is not legal!!!!

When i've been faced with, this my approach is to offer to contact the former employee saying that a colleague wishes to get in touch plus his number - it is then up to him/her to decide whether to do so.
Might be hard to prove it came from your former employer though.

first thing you want to do is ask your parents to ask him how he got hold of there phone number.no more chat or questions answered. how did he get there number.
i got a phone call one day (witheld number ) and the person started to ask me questions.i asked him where he had got my phone number from,he tried to bypass the question and started asking me another question, before he could finish i asked again how did you get my number.
everytime he started to ask me a question i asked him how did you get my number. after 5 or 10 minutes he gave up and put the phone down on me. point of this is that if your ex workmate phones up you parents they should just keep on asking him and not get into any other questions or chat with him .my number has now been changed again (ex)
