clunking noise

I have a clunking noise from the back of my ford fiesta.It only happens when i go over bumps.It dosn't matter what speed i go its the same.It feels like something is loose.Many thanks

possible Exhaust knocking.?

If i remember rightly they rubber mountings on top of the rear shock absorbers that used to wear, these would make a knocking noise over bumps

also common for rear coil springs breaking

I'm with bigboots - check the top mounting/nut of rear shock absorbers...

Strut top mounts are about �20 each and fitting no ore than 1 hours labour for the pair about �60

Depending upon the age of the Fiesta and the mileage... as well as if it has been driven down any large pot holes, it could be the wishbone.
Or something rattling in the spare wheel cavity? Exhaust mounting could be corroded so the pipe is knocking up and down?
Unlikely to be the suspension as you would notice the noise only coming from one side of the car.

Borrow a child and stick it in the back and tell it to have a good ferret around listneing to exactly where the noises are coming from, thats what my Father used to do to us lol

Not sure why people go down the harder path of investigation before the easier ones!
Get hold of the back of the exhaust and try to move it up and down, side to side. If its got a defective mounting rubber you will soon know.
If you are feeling really adventurous, lay on the ground and have a look. Again, any broken exhaust mount will be obvious, they tend to be simple O rings or other shaped rubber mouldings, figure of 8 or the like, from a simple bent piece of steel on the exhaiust to a similar one on the under-floor or chassis.
