I thought I read somewhere about some stuff that you can rub on the shoes or on your feet which prevents this Summer problem but maybe I dreamt it.

It is possible that you are experiencing an irritation from the synthetic lining, in which case there is not a lot you can do. If you have bought a 100% synthetic shoe the shoe will last forever but your feet will suffer. A leather upper will at least give the shoe chance to mould to your foot shape and therefore possibly work away any ittitation or rubbing. There are a few things you can do, one is to wear the shoes in from the inside by wearing them with cotton socks around the house to stretch them, another is to use a wooden footstretcher if you have one, if not you can buy them in timpsons or from bettawear catalogues etc.
One other way to ease rubbing is to but the Scholl gel inserts, they do sore spots, small round gel pads that cushion your skin, the spots stick to the lining of the shoe, not your skin, as some dozy twonks try to wear them. Scholl also do gel heal strips that fit into the back of the shoe to protect your heels. All of these products can be chilled in your freezer prior to fitting to give an extra coolness, as can the party feet, which are ideal to help shoes fit or to relieve pressure on the balls of your feet.
using leather stretching creams etc on the outer of a leather shoe can work but if a fault develops you would not be able to return them to the store.
Most good shoe stores offer a fitting service not a measuring service, but always ask if you can return them after trying them at home when your feet are cool and not swollen, as are most peoples in warm weather after walking round the shops, better still, try to shoe shop early in the day if you are prone to swollen feet. If you have a bunyon, use ibroleve gel on the skin to reduce swelling in warm weather.
