also, COWBITHEN is an anagram of a town/village in Dorset. Has anyone any idea what it can be as I am truly stuck for an answer.

Whitcombe is close for anagram - perhaps wrong letter given?

I will bear Whitcombe in mind and use it if I cannot find anything else suitable from an evening looking at the local OS map. (magnifying glass will be needed!!!)
