Marriage

By being with your partner for 10 years plus can you know by then what type of relationship you have and if it will last if you get married? Or do take the risk to get married even though you know deep down you both still have issues from a rocky relationship?

I would suggest not to get married.
If you know that you both still have unresolved issues I would suggest counselling either together or on your own. Your relationship probably won't change much if you get married - is that what you are expecting?
The only person you can ever change is yourself.
That way you can look forward to a better relationship.

Don't do it.
You should get married because you are so happy that marriage is the obvious next step.
You sound like you are doing it to replace something that is missing in your relationship. Marriage is not a piece in the puzzle.
I think if you have been with someone long term (3-4+ years) and have not got married in that time, then it is because it is not right for that relationship.
A very hard move to make, but sounds like your relationship has had its day.
