Does anyone have TMJ?

i have a clicking and grinding jaw and it is a little painfull, also along the jawline on the left side it feels a little tight. i was wondering if it could be TMJ? does anyone have symptoms like this?

Hello Hollie! Your dentist would be the best person to discuss this with. They see cases of this all of the time. Often with 'TMJ dysfunction' as it is know, it responds well to simple jaw exercises and sometimes wearing a gumshield at night to reduce tension in the muscles caused by grinding. I'd speak to your dentist so that you can get a correct diagnosis of the problem and suitable treatment

I have it, but i dont know how its sorted i think you have to go the dentist and they fit you with a night cap on ur teeth to put ur jaw line back in place. xx

i know whats up with me now! i went to the dentist yesterday and he says that the cartilage in my right jaw joint is mishapen and that is what i can hear clicking and the cartilage in the left jaw joint is totally gone so im grinding bone on bone which is due to clenching and grinding during the night. i have to have a mouth shield made by him which is gonna cost me �400 which i think is a total rip off. so thats that
