What next after contraceptive implant
3 Answers
I have always raved about the implant - implanon, my first two were great, no wight gain or side effects and a short light monthly bleed, fantastic! However since I had my third one fitted in August I have put on 8LB and can't shift it at all , my periods aren't a proper bleed anymore and I am spotting most of the time. Doctor gave me Norethisterone to take for a month which stopped the spotting I had a proper bleed and then nothing again until my next period which was great but now the spotting has returned. Am going back to the Doctor to see what to do maybe I can keep taking Norethisterone with the implant which helps with the spotting but doesn't help me shift the weight but am also considering trying something else. I can't take the combined pill as it raised my blood pressure. My main concern is gaining weight and want to avoid this. Has anyone any advise please. I have read about the mini pill and the mirena coil and also the evra patch - but I think that is similiar to the combined pill so probably won't be able to take that. Any advise would be gratefully appreciated. Thanks
