play back and record

I am trying to play back my panasonic mini camcorder tape on my pc, can anyone help with the best way to do this,PLEASE

Quite a headache on a pc but so completely straightforward on a mac. So my first advice would be, if you can use a mac then do. The mac will recognise your camcorder staright away and you can download, edit etc on the inbuilt program (think called imovie). On a pc, you will need a program such as windows ?movie maker which comes as standard with win xp, or else get something such as pinnacle studio. The latter works but is time consuming and frustrating to use (in my experience). Moreover it has a habit of crashing and freezing your system.It demands a lot of memory on your pc's behalf.
