Yes, there are more important things. But it's a start, and it's easy.
I buy the extra strong bags and use them, its just a case of remembering to bring them to the supermarket with me thats the problem!!!

asda is banning free plastic bags from june I think
it depends on weather you are a plastic bag manufacturer

:-(
I bought a food item in BHS yesterday and at the til bought one of their bag-for-life ones at a cost of 1.49 , their plastic ones are 5p . I felt a bit silly on the way home though , because the bag-for-life was huge !!!!!!
I do usually use one reusable at ASDA but to even the weight I often have a plastic too , I notice they keep them under the till now so you can't help yourself.
xxx
manys a good thing is kept under the till BM-- :<)
notafish is right, it's no big deal, but is easy to address. Hopefully soon all plastic carriers will be biodegradable. I take a bag-for-life everywhere anyway.

A much bigger issue is people using MOBILE PHONES while DRIVING. In a short 3 mile round trip I counted no less than EIGHTEEN people using handhelds. I shout "get off that phone" at them, and one guy fed back a torrent of abuse. I suppose you can't blame him, but I wish Old Bill had been there. If they sat concealed at the Mitcham Common roundabout, they'd make a fortune out of the selfish dangerous swine. At this particular roundabout today I saw a skip driver TEXTING while negotiating this very busy junction with one hand.

Rant over, out into the garden to do some shooting.
I've posted this before - I use plastic bags as bins so I don't buy bin bags. Looks like I'm going to have to start buying a roll of bin bags in the not too distant future (when my collection of plastics run out).
Bag for life ! are we talking about my wife :-)
No there is no bigger issue at this moment in time
Agree with all of you but Tiggerblue has same question as me. Now we cant use plastic carrier bags for our rubbish we have to buy the plastic bin bags. Just bought my first pack so what on earth is the difference? its all plastic. Perhaps they will ban them next when the bin police wake up to it.
there are different grades of plastic, some of it can be recycled via plastic recycling, some of it is degradeable and can be put in with your weekly refuse

I always used the shop plastic bags as bin liners but now Tescos are selling biodigradable bin liners which aren't much more than the usual ones.
