would this indicate drug use?
15 Answers
I hope someone could give me some info about signs of possible drug use. I bumped into an old boyfriend at the weekend who I hadnt seen for 27 years, when I was 15 - I am now 42. It was nice to see him and chat but I am wondering if his behaviour is normal. He chatted almost non-stop, almost garbled. I went back to his place (and no I didn't do anything!) but I did notice that on one of his cd cases there was lots of fairly deep scratches. Does anyone know if this might mean he is on something? Also, since I met him on Friday night he has not stopped texting me, endless texts saying how much he likes me etc. i have never had so many texts, not sure what to think.

as dr legend said he may just be a chatty person and likes you, or it may be he likes you but is overcompensating for being a bit shy and ends up garbling.
A coke user would not normally use a CD case for "cutting up" on because the blade would cut and scrape the plastic of the case, which not only spoils the case, but would also mean shredded plastic being mixed in with the line,

ok thanks for answers. I guess I will have to ask him but its a difficult question to ask someone when you have only just met them again. I did see him once in all that time but not to speak to. I guess he could have a mental disorder but am not sure how I could find that out for sure. I just don't want to get myself into something, especially if he really likes me cos then it would end up hurting him, I want to tread carefully really.
When you meet him did he seem to be going to the toilet very often, did he seem to have a bit of a cold and sniffed a lot. if he had been doing coke then he probably would have had trouble keeping still and would fidget a lot and show restlessness in general.
The continued talking garbled rubbish non stop is also a sign of coke use, but that may just as easily been drink so thats not a great sign.

I didnt see him go to the loo a lot but wasnt really looking for that. He did cough a fair bit. and when at his flat he kept spraying something but that could have been anything I guess. He was restless in general yes.
I am worried because I think I'm one of those ppl that can 'rescue' others you know? Try and help people with problems, I seem to attract addictive natured people and I don't want to go there again really.

Hi red, hope you are OK.
I am not really sure about signs of drug use, but I Just wanted to say I really feel you should go with your instinct on this guy. It sounds like your whole self is screaming NO NO NO! But your head is thinking, "well, maybe...."
You need to be very careful, and moreso than that, I would really suggest you maybe send him a text to say, "It was nice to see you again, see you around", before he felt that your meeting was anything more than a nice chance to reminisce.
Just my feeling on it...
