In all fairness though they should not go as quickly as 3 weeks. The answer that says about not touching the lamps is completely inaccurate and is just a coincidence. The bulb in dichroic/halogen lamps is actually encased inside the lamp so its impossible to touch it. Have you considered changing over to LED's they will still fit a GU10 mount, come in a variety of colours and they use about 1/10th of the energy of a dichroic/halogen. They are slightly more expensive but will last an eternity by comparison.
