insect bites

I keep getting bitten by some kind of insect recently which is bringing me out in large welts. I know B vitamins are good mosquito repellents, but do they work for other insects too?
I'm taking anti histimines daily and using cream on my bites but it's not doing much good really

i bought this thing at a chemist, its a small device, and you click one end, whist putting the other end on your bite and it sends a tiny electric shock. click on the bite half a dozen times and hey presto, it doesnt itch any more. it really works!
