Please can someone fill me in on a GBH charge going to crown court - what might happen?

The guy concerned is my lovely boyfriend who has no criminal record as an adult, only things when he was a minor. He has changed hugely since the fight in September - he's getting counselling, help with drink and drugs, got himself a job and now me!

I'm so worried he's going to be put away, I know the person he is now and not what he was then and when he was drunk!

Please help me

All these stupid ***** on here ought to get a life and stop telling me how to live mine!!

At the end of the day I know the person, you do not. I had an extremely bad life as a child and have learnt to live life to the full and enjoy every day as if it is your last!

I am DEFINATELY not condoning my boyfriend's actions, this was last septemeber and was very wrong but at the same time what the guy did to his sister was also very wrong but it doesn't make it alright!

I know the person/people involved and the whole story, I am asking for advice ONLY not your abuse and your personal opinions on what I should do with my life, at the end of the day that is MY decision and I most certainly not a stupid person. I have a degree and a good career and am certainly not taking this lightly nor indeed throwing my life away!

I am very happy actually, the most happy I have been in a long time and I do hope that all of you who have given me abuse have such happy and fullfilled lives as I do!

Now I have good advice from Katie, Chris and Jock and the rest of you, please do yourselves all a favour and get back to your lives unless you are going to give me productive and reasonable adult answers.

Oh and Abdul - we need a damn good whacking do we?! Well I'm pretty sure that 2 wrongs do not make a right....well that's what my good family taught me!

Get a life will you - I certainly have one oh and I also have morals thank you!

oh and the 'P.S. and a job' bit - all I can do is laugh at that comment as I can almost guarantee you are not fullfilling your dream career and earning as much as I am with a university degree in it as well!!

And seeing as you seem to know absolutely nothing - help with drugs/drink/life/general issues is called COUNSELLING as well as having great support from a girlfriend and family/friends!

Perhaps you should get some for your ego and your issues with spending far too much time on the net harrassing completely innocent people like me!?
