Tesco have people who wait for car owners parking to shop and come up with their little trolly and ask if you would like the car washed while you shop. My son has never taken them up on the offer as he washes his car at the jet wash areas. xxx
No chance. They're like fast food delivery people - if everyone tips them on top of even their minimum wage they'd end up on a lot more than I earn myself, which isn't bad, for doing a very simple job. People say low earners rely on the tips, but for what - to make them more than those who have worked bl@@dy hard to earn a decent wage? Pah. Rant over.
I get my car washed at Tesco once a week because I'm not well enough to do it myself, the lads make a good job of it and I always give them a 2 tip. One of them was telling me they only get 180 per week and work all the hours under the sun. It's their bosses that make a fortune, at least the lads aren't scrounging off the state!
They have a (seriously expensive) hand car wash franchise at my Tesco's - it starts at like 8 for just a wipe and goes up to 25 for a full valet and clean (inside and out).... and those are just the prices for the small cars....
No, I don't think I'll be leaving a tip, simply because I will be doing it all myself.
