Tonight on the way home, in broad day light, in the centre of town, I saw this man being beaten up by three other men. He was on the floor and they were stamping on his head and hitting him, No one was helping and the bus driver wouldnt let me off the bus to help. Feel really upset. I called the police but it was just so awful.
Then, whilst still on the phone to the police, (i had gotten off the bus by then) i heard screeching of brakes and shouting. Anyway, a bus had cut in front of a car, the driver had gone mental - the bus stopped and the driver of the car got out and started hitting the bus driver through the window. The police lady on the end of the phone was asking what was happening and i was giving her the cars registration plate numnber and the guy turned and loked right at me - am sure he heard what i was doing. So i ran into the nearest shop. What is wrong with people?! What a horrible world we live in!
(Please no grammer experts leave comments about mistakes - really cant be bothered today!)
Good point notafish!
nannon - What you witnessed was barbaric. What happens in these peoples lives to make them so damaged? God knows? What do we do with them? Is society still churning them out? Whose fault is it?
Yes there are still some nice people. I was waiting for the bus hope with all my bags and some teenage boys in hoods and caps were walking up to same stop and I was like "here we go" (which I know is terrible stereotyping!) and then they helped me with my bags when i got on the bus!
Yes - i always think - if that was me of someone i knew getting the life kivked out of them i damn well hope someone would help!
that the thing if one person had stepped in other probably would have!
I do think if i had gotten off the bus and tried to stop it other people would have helped.
It just makes me feel so sick - think am gonna have nightmares tonight! What if that had been me, my dad, my friend, my sister etc?? And no one had helped?!
But I bet they would have stopped if it was a girl getting beaten up!
It seems that literally no one is scared of the police anymore. Or scared to get caught as they no nothing very bad will happen. In other places police have respect, they carry weapons, which although i do not agree with, at least people still fear them!
Too right nannon. Just look at the "new" penalties that're going to be served on youngsters carrying knives. They can be locked up. Woooohooooo! And I suppose that any time spent on remand, etc., will actually mean that the scumbags serve a month or two at most, in a nice cushy "prison". Send the culprits into quarries, hacking away at rocks for 12 hours a day. Oh - and make that for 5 years, with no remission. THEN we might start to see a change in attitude.
