cd burner

the cd burner in my pc has started to slow from writing at x16 to a mere x2-3 so i uninstalled then reinstalled nero, the problem remain next i took of nero and tried roxio easy cd creater 5, no joy. i have defragged all partitions and the problem remains. please help my pc before i bin it and go all macintosh.

this is maybe too obvious an answer but have you bought really cheap cd's? these can slow down burning times and i only buy branded cd's now as so many cheapo's don't last for any time at all.

May be that you have too many programs running in the background,disable any you have in the system tray (where the clock is) by pointing at item right click then select exit or close. disabling any virus software may help as this is can be memory hungry or try rebooting system just before you attempt to burn cd's to clear memory. Hope any of this helps
