I am moving house shortly. I have a dining table which is at least 70+ years old. I am in two minds whether to chop it up and take the remains to the tip or to see if it has any value. It is a table with extending leaves and very heavy. I have no idea what kind of wood it is. We bought it 60 years ago from a second hand shop and they told us it was at least 10 years old.
Any suggestion what I can find out and where?

Get some one to do a valuation ..it should
be free..if it's not worth alot give it to a
charity ..or ebay it with a pic...
Ten years? Is that a typo?? 100 years may be worth a little, ten years, not a chance!! Unless it's a one-off designer/cabinet maker's piece... How much did you pay?
