fixing pc - ME to XP

I have a pretty powerful PC that has Windows ME installed, which is pants, basically.  I have some software on it that I don't mind losing, as would like to install xp insttead. Anyone know where I canget this cheap? How easy is it to  put on a different operating system?

i didnt get an xp cd when i first bought my pc. I made a master copy onto cd though. Theyre yours if u want them.

The one I got with a PC had a time limit and I had to register via their site (which took a while so I assume they were doing some nice checking for a copy, which it wasn't). You may have some probs there therefore. Thanks Bill!
