Do you drive around the town all the time or on the motorway ?.
Do you stop and start a lot, or have short journeys ?.
Is the car serviced and maintained ?.
Are the tyres inflated to their correct pressures ?.
Do you carry excess weight like tools or prams etc ?.
Do you drive with the windows or sunroof open ?.
Has the car done high mileage ?
All these things can affect the petrol consumption.
A well maintained and serviced car will always give you better mileage, as will properly inflated tyres.
An overloaded car driving with the windows open will drink petrol.
I have a 1.1 Saxo that on a good day does 50 Miles to 5.00 of juice.
the 1.2 engine in the sxi is not any different to that of the club model or the life model so i dont see how driving it as a boy racer has any relevance
Boy Racers sit at the lights reving the ******** out of the engine, speed to the red line in every gear, and generally get from A to B as fast as possible.
I know this as I was once a boy who used to race, the difference then was the price of fuel.
Now I am a mature adult driver, I drive my car carefully. ..
Some things will never change, but we all grow up one day.
what in a 1.2 corsa?? would you not be a bit embarrassed trying to drive like a boy racer in an 80 bhp corsa??? christ they wouldnt pull you out of bed!!! i know , i have one!!!
