I have followed the discussion on Quizmail questions with interest. Since January I have been attempting the quiz on my own as my friend has been ill. I've been sending for answers only most months as I've failed to complete enough. Sometimes a question will annoy me because I can't solve it. Having tried the researchers at my local library to no avail, I'm curious as to whether people have found the "fat abbot".

Hi Astonville,
having also lost my team due to moving, I am also considering sending for answers only. I have limited time and recently am able to get fewer answers. What do you get with answers only. May seem a silly question, but I wondered what exactly was returned from Quizmail.

Yes I have too. Just by googling fat abbot and the given nationality.
We won last month. Received �18 credit but paid �14 to enter. It's a matter of luck really what league you're in. This is because people give answers on AB so more get full marks so less to be shared!

When you send for Answers only you get the next quiz as well,but not the league results. Actually I have been sent the next set of questions and league results, even when I've not sent for anything. This doesn't include answers. They must be trying to lure me back.

Hi Astonville,
many thanks for your answer. Think I will ask for answers only in future. Enjoy the quiz but really am not worried about league placements. Managed a good few years ago to score 159 out of 160 - that was when the last 10 answers were worth 2 points. Must admit was pretty chuffed. As long as I know that I have researched as much as time will allow, I am happy just to answer the questions. It is now a little expensive for only one person, and if I can enjoy it and pay less then that is even better.
