How do I get a stamp in my Passport?

Hello can anyone tell me where I have to travel to, to get one of those nifty little stamps made in your passport??

Any country outside the EU.

Most countries outside the EU.  A number of countries in Europe, such as Switzerland, do not stamp EU passports.

you should be able to ask the passport checkers at arrivals to stamp your passport. It will just be a stamp with the location and date written on it. They may do it if they can be bothered. It is different from a Visa stamp you would get from going to places like Japan or USA etc.

I try to avoid any stamps in my passport. Some countries don't like it if you have a stamp from another country that they are not exactly on best terms with.

I was once refused entry to the Czech Republic because a border guard , for some reason, took objection to the Turkish stamp in my passport. He then, very helpfully, stamped 'Entry Refused' in it. And thus increased the time it took at every subsequent border crossing and immigration post, as they all eyed the 'Entry Refused' stamp with suspicion.

I eventually had to send my passport back to be re-issued - for a fee - so that the offending stamps were not there.

Agree with brachiopod - I have Pakistan, Saudi Arabian, Egyptian and Belorussian visa stamps in my passport - some conutries can be very pernickety.  Most customs officials will stamp your passport if asked, but it might just be the airport stamp.  I also have a Schiphol stamp in mine.

I have two UK passports so I do not end up with unfavourable combinations of stamps.
