I've just got the computer back from the repairer and the screen is about half an inch outside the frame so there's a little black strip at the top and the same amount lost at the bottom.

I've tried all the display and desktop options with no success and consulted help but nothing seems to be able to do it. Have I missed something?

Is it a desktop or a laptop? If it's a desktop have you tried the controls on the monitor itself?

I've just pressed the menu button on my Dell monitor and a list of options came up - one where I can adjust the postioning (horizontal and vertical) so this is what you might need to do on yours.

Hooray! It worked! Yes, a desktop, no wonder I couldn't find it on Windows. I wonder how that happened as it's been disconnected for 5 days...
the fixer man would have used his own screen - if the settings (refresh rate) were different.

they should have told you
