appreciation!

just thought I would post before I went out to the garden, today my youngest son caused a panic at the school, he goes to a special school that caters for children with autism, the place is like fort knox because most of the kids are runners (they try to escape) and have no awareness of danger, its a very nice place all the same, anyway I got a phonecall this afternoon from the very upset sounding deputy head who told me that my son had managed to slip under the fence, run out of the building and run across a dual carrageway.
I was shocked and actually shouted" oh my god!"
he was ok, they caught him, he has no awareness of anything and is more like a 1 year old mentally so he would have ran into the road without looking.
I am grateful he is alive, it is a very busy road and I just want to say that I appreciate things much more when I think of the scenarios that could easily have happened.
Im off out to appreciate him more than I did yesterday

When my daughter was about 2 she was pestering me to go to the park NOW, I told her we would go soon but that wasn't good enough, so whilst I was doing something she pushed her push chair to the front door, climbed in it and opened the front door. Off she went heading for the park but I got to her just in time before she crossed the road.
